Cake Dreams Do Come True -- 25th Birthday Celebration

This Sunday, I celebrated my birthday at Milky and Sunny, with family and friends.

It was so much fun!

First of all, Ate Star, designated party planner (and one-woman design team), turned the already beautiful M&S into an even more colorful and happy space.

Second, the food was overflowing and delicious! :) Plus, Moonleaf Teas for our beverage.

Third, I had four birthday cakes -- four of my favorite cakes (because I have just so many on my list, hehe).

Wait, this is inaccurate. I had four boxes of cakes.

But, to be exact, I had 2 1/2 cakes , 2 mini cakes, and 1 pie.

Half of CBTL's Chicago Cheesecake plus two mini tiramisu cakes, Chocolate Cake from Polly's (best chocolate cake evahh!), Banoffee Pie from Purple Oven and Strawberry Shortcake from Conti's.

The cakes... were for me, the highlight of the party, because I've really, really, really wanted to celebrate my birthdays like this for a long, long, long time, but it just seems fitting and more special to do it this year since I turned a quarter-of-a-century-old. :P

(More photos as soon as I acquire them from everyone who took pictures... so many beautiful shots!!).

Thanks so much, you guys!!!!

To Ate Star, for being so crafty and arty, and spending a whole lot of time handmaking the decors.

To Kuya Botchie (KB), for patiently driving us back and forth (to Katipunan, Galle, Kapitolyo, etc, etc), and for the Purple Oven Banoffee Pie! :) To Framie, too, for coming to M&S, though you were feeling under the weather.

To Bernard, the owner of M&S, for allowing me to celebrate in your resto, for letting your kitchen cook some special dishes just for my birthday, and for not charging me corkage for bringing in my cakes and teas. Hehe! To both Bernard and Don, for my half-a-cheesecake from CBTL and my two mini tiramisus.

To Cai (my poste), for being the official photographer (aka "documentarist" hehe), and to Chen, for helping Ate Star decorate. To both of you, for the Conti's Strawberry Shortcake.

To Ate Dang and Cheska, for the book and the awesome mixed tape (ay CD pala!). I'm listening to it right now, the songs are awesome!!! :)

Also, to my Mom and Dad, who weren't there, but who let me and Ate and KB out of the house on a Sunday! And of course, for bringing me forth unto this world. Hehehe! :P

Pino + TGI Friday's + Dad's Birthday

My goodness! It's Saturday again! This week passed by so quickly.

I've been so busy in the office, I didn't have time to update at all.

But last week was pretty eventful, indeed!

Last Sunday, I had my hair re-colored (I'm slightly a redhead now, yep, only slightly!), then two dinners. What?!! :P

Here's dinner number one at Pino, Malingap.

Carbonara with mushrooms (but this is a special request from Ate, because we weren't in the mood for the usual Sisig Carbonara). Yum!!!

Then, we went to Eastwood to meet with KB and Framie and Bernard, and also, to grab dinner number 2.

What was supposed to be a "salad dinner"  (we already ate at Pino, remember?), turned out to be...

Caesar Salad. Ate's Favorite!

and... Shrimp Mango Quesadilla...

... and Chicken Finger BLT with Fries!

We couldn't help ourselves! Eating for five people again!

Then on Monday, we bought this cake - Conti's Strawberry Shortcake- for Dad for his birthday. It's our family's favorite.

Yun lang!

Friday was also fun, eating with friends at Pino, Jupiter. But that's for another post! :)

Til next time,

Binky

Mom's Birthday

Today is my Mom's birthday. I won't tell you how old she is, but I assure you, she doesn't look her age at all.

This morning, we bought breakfast from McDonald's (drive thru!). Pancakes and Sausage McMuffins and hash browns and cups of hot chocolate for everyone.

At lunch, Mom cooked tapa we bought from Divisoria, and I binged on Three Musketeers and Milky Ways! :)

In the afternoon, Kuya Botchie (KB) and I, and our little friend Rafa (our five-year old kapitbahay) watched The Avengers on KB's computer. Is it just me? Pero hindi ko na-gets yung The Avengers. Also, Iron Man got too much screen time. But I really liked Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Hope he gets his own movie, too!

I also promised Mom I would clean my room (as a sort of birthday present), I ended up taking a nap for two hours. Hehe. I need to make it up to her some way.

At six pm, we went to Mass, then ate at a Chinese Restaurant near our house. Mom doesn't like eating out so much, except when it's in a Chinese resto.

Tomorrow's also going to be busy because my Titas and cousins are coming over for lunch. They are going to bring over my Mom's birthday cake, which my cousins usually buy from this really old-fashioned bakery in Pasig. Really good cake. I love it so much.

That's how birthdays usually go in this house.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Cake Update: Here's my Mom's (Tessie) birthday cake. My Mom's eldest sister (Clarita) is also celebrating her birthday in August, so they put her name there, too.

Soft sponge cake, enveloped within the yummiest marshmallow icing, and topped with very pretty, traditional cake decor.

Until next time,

Binky
