Krazy Garlik

So last Sunday, I watched Camp Rock in Greenbelt.

The play finished just in time for an early dinner, and we (Ate, KB and Framie) decided to eat at Krazy Garlik in Greenbelt 5.

I noticed that the resto has an Alice in Wonderland theme to it. I'm not sure, though, what Alice has to do with Garlic? Were there any references to garlic, or garlicky meals in the book (or in the movie adaptations) that I missed?

Hehe! Anyways!

Our food:

40 Kloves Chicken (Regular/Half-a-Chicken). Meat was a bit on the dry side, but the balat was crunchy. Paired with gravy, it's quite tasty, and garlicky, indeed! :) But, were there really 40 cloves of garlic in there? Hmmmm.

Spaghetti Vongole. Just ok.

But oh the pizza!!! We loved loved loved it! :) Just mushrooms on top of gooey cheese, cheese, cheese and chewy pizza dough.

I also had to take a picture of this guy! Cute!!

I think I might go back to Krazy Garlik just for the pizza. Yay!

Then, after dinner, I passed by Fully Booked, and look who I saw. Mr. Cumberbatch and Mr. Freeman! :P I was so close to buying these! But I didn't.

Gahh! Christmas gifts for me, anyone?????

Of course, I would not miss eating dessert. Starbucks (we've been going to Starbucks a lot lately!), please. I tried the Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake (with Nestle Crunch on top). I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Too sweet, and it didn't quite go well my drink.

But chocolate is still chocolate, and my tummy was fully and happy that night.

Seeya!

Europe Post: Keukenhof

We were so lucky to have visited Holland in spring, because we also got the chance to spend a day in Keukenhof.

I think the photos can speak for themselves! :P

Cake Dreams Do Come True -- 25th Birthday Celebration

This Sunday, I celebrated my birthday at Milky and Sunny, with family and friends.

It was so much fun!

First of all, Ate Star, designated party planner (and one-woman design team), turned the already beautiful M&S into an even more colorful and happy space.

Second, the food was overflowing and delicious! :) Plus, Moonleaf Teas for our beverage.

Third, I had four birthday cakes -- four of my favorite cakes (because I have just so many on my list, hehe).

Wait, this is inaccurate. I had four boxes of cakes.

But, to be exact, I had 2 1/2 cakes , 2 mini cakes, and 1 pie.

Half of CBTL's Chicago Cheesecake plus two mini tiramisu cakes, Chocolate Cake from Polly's (best chocolate cake evahh!), Banoffee Pie from Purple Oven and Strawberry Shortcake from Conti's.

The cakes... were for me, the highlight of the party, because I've really, really, really wanted to celebrate my birthdays like this for a long, long, long time, but it just seems fitting and more special to do it this year since I turned a quarter-of-a-century-old. :P

(More photos as soon as I acquire them from everyone who took pictures... so many beautiful shots!!).

Thanks so much, you guys!!!!

To Ate Star, for being so crafty and arty, and spending a whole lot of time handmaking the decors.

To Kuya Botchie (KB), for patiently driving us back and forth (to Katipunan, Galle, Kapitolyo, etc, etc), and for the Purple Oven Banoffee Pie! :) To Framie, too, for coming to M&S, though you were feeling under the weather.

To Bernard, the owner of M&S, for allowing me to celebrate in your resto, for letting your kitchen cook some special dishes just for my birthday, and for not charging me corkage for bringing in my cakes and teas. Hehe! To both Bernard and Don, for my half-a-cheesecake from CBTL and my two mini tiramisus.

To Cai (my poste), for being the official photographer (aka "documentarist" hehe), and to Chen, for helping Ate Star decorate. To both of you, for the Conti's Strawberry Shortcake.

To Ate Dang and Cheska, for the book and the awesome mixed tape (ay CD pala!). I'm listening to it right now, the songs are awesome!!! :)

Also, to my Mom and Dad, who weren't there, but who let me and Ate and KB out of the house on a Sunday! And of course, for bringing me forth unto this world. Hehehe! :P

Europe Post: Amsterdam

I always thought that Amsterdam was a crazy party city where everyone gets high, trippy and wild. But no, it was one of the more relaxed and easygoing cities we visited. And did I mention? It was absolutely beautiful. (And if you really want to know, it did smell like weed everywhere.)

From Paris, we took a mid-morning train to Amsterdam, and got off at the Central Station.

This is where we stayed -- Mae's B&B (third building from right). Don't mind Bernard, please. :P

Like in Paris, we ate breakfast with other guests. We were served all sorts of breads and cheeses and assorted fruits and mini Dutch pancakes!

Amsterdam is pretty easy to navigate. The quickest way around is by riding the tram. Walking is a lot of fun, too.

No trip to Amsterdam would be complete without a visit to The Red Light District. We have this one photo, because I think I read somewhere you aren't supposed to take pictures here (though I can't vouch for this, I might just be making things up, hehe!). Again, I expected a big party scene, but even in this part of the city, people were so subdued. Perhaps, we visited at the wrong time of the year? Hehe!

Of course, a few museum tours were in order. We decided to go to just two museums, after we've Louvre-ed ourselves out in Paris. :P No photo-taking allowed inside.

One of the most exciting things we did in Amsterdam was to visit the Heineken Museum. Where history meets fun! Ahaha! Not only will you learn the story behind the famous Dutch brand, you'll also get an awesome amount of free Heinekens, and even learn how to properly drink a glass of beer. Really so fun!

We also took the canal cruise -- a leisurely tour of Amsterdam's famous waterways.

Inside the ferry, me being silly with my favorite Stroopwaffel and a hot cup of coffee from Starbucks (Bee's not mine).

Amsterdam, so pretty at night!

Our Netherlands adventure did not stop in Amsterdam, of course. There were also our side trip to Keukenhof , which I will be posting soon, too! :)
